Dear Friend Trenton March 11th AD 1814
Since the receipt of thy esteemed favour it hath not see
med needful to trouble thee with a letter until now that
the season of the year advances and such circumstances
exist as to make it highly important to our dear M Imlay
that a transfer would be made of the estate of one whose lo-
cal situation will admit of his acting in the premises Joseph
M. Lowrie is a man of very respectable character and his
standing both in church in State is among the first in our
country and as he is kindly willing to undertake he trust it
appears to me highly essential to the convenience of M I that
there should be no further delay in sending back to her
an assignment of sd trust to JML which I think can be
Done by writing something like the following hereon. "I, TR, do
"hereby for my heir, suitors, administrators, and assigns convey to
Joseph M Lowrie his executors, administrators & assigns the property both real
& personal within contained subject to the same trusts and limitati
ons as are herein contained. witness my hand and seal the
day of AD 1814." with a wax or wafer seal, and acknow
ledge like a deed before a judge - My wife children are well & se
nd affectionate regards to be conveyed to thy Dr wife with thy sincere
friend. Lucius Horatio Stockton
