Dear Brother,
Thy hoops arrived here & were in store before I got home, brother Samuel has taken 15 pr Ct of them, he thinks $9 too high a price for them, & it is likewise theh opinion of others, that they will not readily sell at that, as hoops come from Philadelphia lower, there has seveal importation of hoops arrived here from Philadelphia, since I got home, Wm L Fisher, & Stephen Hathaway Jrn were amongst the persons whom had hoops, that have arrived within a few days, they both told me, that their hoops cost in Philadelphia $7 60/100, & the cost of freight c 15 pr Ct that they had $7 60/100 pr Ct here, so that they can afford them at $8 50/100 which seems to settle the price, that hoops can be sold for at present. I fear that I shall not be able to get more for thine, while Philadelphia hoops can be purchased at that price, I shall be obliged by thy writing me fully on the subject by Post, as I wish to act in the business conformable to thy wishes in every particular.
