Esteemed friend
1st letter Thy favor of 11 mo 13th 1820 came in due Course Covering a draft on Jos L Russell for One Hundred & Eighty One Dollars which as duly paid & is placed to thy Credit.
the Shutttles alluded to in that Letter to be sent per John Barrow at N York have never reached us nor no information from him on the Subject.
Within a few days a paper congtaining 6 Shuttles was sent us by W.L. Fisher without a bill. we are not judges of the Article but they appear to be first rate.
2nd letter of 11 mo 19th is also at hand countermanding thy former order for Shuttles. we have not aduced any as on speaking to W L Fisher found he had got his under way. we have procured from E Parker the No 26 Vol XIII Part 2d Edh Ency:
3rd letter 12 mo 11th is also at hand & serves to mind us that we had not forwarded the balance of the Cotton twist, at the time it was ordered this article was in such demand that we could only obtain part of it & that rather by way of favor & having repeatedly tried to get the balance without effect & other subjects intervening it passed out of our recollection, so that we have not ordered it. we have made considerable enquiry for a small sized Iron Chest & find those of Neat make & good quality scarce. The Dutch Chests are plenty but are at a high price. they are of wrought iron but very thin, perhaps little thicker than Common Sheet Iron
