               Dear Friend,
                   At this place on Business I yesterday recd thine of ye 12th enclosing F Delius's Dft in W &G D for Rsh 722.8 which owing to the many very heavy Losses we have various ways met with, I am sorry to say it is our of our Power to accept. And to prevent thy trouble of returng it to have it regularly protestd I went before a Notary in this place, had it noted and now enclose it herein.
              From thy feeling midn thou wilt form some Idea of my feelings in circumstances like these, therefore without further comments I recommend my Bro & Self to thy Confidence & Delicacy and if possible to a measure of thy Sympathy. I left our family in usual health the day before yesterday, expect to return tomorrow. Remember me affectionately to Charity, I remain thy sincere Friend, Wm Dean
