I wrote thee on the 3rd ulto & enclosed a dft of the Penna Bank on their Office of discount & deposit at Pittsburgh for $500 intended to have made another remittance soon after that time, but Money has been very scarce here these several weeks past, occasioned by the great calls from the Eastern States.
I now enclose thee herein a post Note for five hundred Dollars of the Penna Bank payable to thy order in 20 days from date N2825 which thou wilt please receive & pass to Cr of my Acct. Alexr Skinner arrived here yesterday & will leave for Kendal tomorrow morning be proposed to me to finish my House & Rent it to his Father for a present Residence, which will be agreeable to me, I shall leave it with thee & Alexr to make such addition for a Kitchen & Lodging Room above as you may think proper & sufficient to render it convenient.
Alexr wishes me to advance him some money on thy Acct say $100 or $150 to advance the Waggoners & pay for a few small articles which I shall do; If thou should have occasion for more money before I shall remit the balance, please to draw on me. Thine with esteem. Thos Coffin
