I by yesterday Mail received this
from thy hand the Memoir of Our beloved and highly
esteemed friend John Murray Junr and last evening it
was by my C read to our fireside circle, the precious so
=lemnity and corroborative feeling, attending, elivened with sweet
sensibility the rememberance of many instructive and deeply inte
=resting opportunities in social commerse with him, his mind was
so balanced as always appeared ready to preponderate in favour of that
which would most improve the state of humanity, evincing his
strong bias to be active in doing the greatest possible good; may
we emulate his virtues, conspicuous in the diversified avocati
=ons to which his refined sensibility led him those for the wel
=fare of the society of which he was a distinguished mem
=ber, the steady an even zeal for the support of the various tes
=temonies that he with fervency of spirit manifested were con
=spicuous tracts in his lucid character
