Hartford April 3rd, 1816
Dr Sir,
Your favour of 3rd Ulto was a few days since recd, in Reply when Mr Chas Skinner was here he called on me & from what he last said to me he should have taken up the Note (given for the Goods bought by Mr Alex Skinner 1 Feby 1814, had he been successful in collecting money which he expected, to have recd when here by his not collecting the money has was not enabled to pay the debt.
The Note is dated 1st February 1814, payable in 6 months for $854.15 on Interest after 1st August 1814 until paid.
Should it be consistant we should be very much obliged by receiving the pay for Note & Interest, having desolved our Copartnership & wishing to close that concern make us more urgent on calling than we otherways should, perhaps it may be mroe convenient for you to send me a draft on some one this way, say M Bull may be wishing to anticipate his funds that is or may be due here, or you may send me a draft on New York.
I am very Respectfully
Your Friend,
Horace Burr & Co.
