Esteemed Cousin New Bedford 12 mo 12th 1793
I understood by Capt Hayden
thou had wrote to me via Taunton but I have not
yet received it. I have sent to thy care a small
Trunk containing a Squash when taken out. I should
be much obliged by thy puting in a Coat & a pair of
breaches now at J Goulds and sending it on Board
P Mashen by whom this goes. ~
I have sent thee by the Bearer fifteen Dollars out of it
to pay for the Honey thou sent for which please to accept
my thanks.
My wife desires me to say the squash must not be
stewed but boild. I need not add that the seeds must
be taken out. ~ From thy assured
Friend & Cousin
Thos Rotch
