                       Dresden yr 21 yr 3 m 1796
Esteemed frd,
  Thomas Rotch    Thine of 2 mo 8th came to hand & have attended to thy request so far as to enquire of several persons who are some acquainted with yr land thou enquired after who inform me it is a good tract taking  the whole togeather. For Barker who is a survayer I hath lately own part of each side of sd land & was some year ago over it in making business. supposing it worth 2 dollars an achor, as to the interval thou mentioned dont suppose it of any value.  I am informed Jonathan Bowman hath wrote re rumors of sd land & offered them 1 dollar an acre for this & several other tracts they own in this county.  If thou art inclining to speck on the land I think its likely there is other land in the county to be had which will turn to as good account & perhaps better than this in quality. I think it would be left for thee to come here ensewing summer where thou can be better informed respecting the matter than I can inform thee by wrighting. I should be glad to see thee & believe many others would & I am with much esteem thy frd, George Ramsell
