I have paid the amount of Hicks Jenkins & Co Acct against thee to wit $25 85/100 placed the same to thy debit in my books, I am favored with thy acceptable letter of the 13th by which I am sorry to observe he bad success which has attended our sheep, I hopwever am so accustomed to disappointment and misfortune that nothing of the kind makes me repine or depresses my spirits but teaches me more & more the necessity of perseverance, I continue to have the most unbounded confidence in our sheep will ultimately prove a most fortunate speculation I certainly would not sell a good Buck under one hundred Dollars nor a good Ewe under two hundred & fifty Dollars.
