Dear Sister
It has been truly grateful to
find by recent information that thou hast so far recovered
from some of the most alarming diseases that has been
permitted to invade our land, as again to be able to
resume thy pen All the Accounts that I have seen
or heard of the disorder, are such as to impress the mind
with terror, provided it is not center d in resignation
to the all disposing will of him who afflicts not his
workmanship but in Wisdom, Although the end may
at times & often is inscrutable to us. That the very
trying dispensation allotted to a hitherto small part
of the Community may not be extensively diffused
until the instinctive lesson of humility is taught to
thousands, is a query that may profitably occupy tho
minds of those that at this time, may be far remote
from the desolating scene, which the inhabitants in
thy neighborhood are daily experiencing A disorder
that from apparent health, as in many instances.
that I have heard of, takes off its victims in 24 or less
hours, is indeed awful, & ought to prove awakening to
survivors I am glad my dear Sister for thine & dear
Thomas Sake who has shared much solicitude & anxious
watching care, daring thy reduced situation, that tho
danger
