do I salute thee, and acknowledge with gratitude thy
tender and instructive communications to our dear Amy
which I believe have been very strengthening and comfort
ing to her often dejected mind, which is the experience of all who rightly advance in the path of self denial to
feel seasons of great self abusement, and I doubt not
solitary feelings are often the companions of thy
remote situation from thy bosom friend which excites
in my heart the nearest sympathy for you my beloved
friend, though my personal acquaintance hath been
small, yet your dedication is well evinced to my
mind, or you could not have turned your back
upon all that is called dear in this life and I
doubt not but the reward of obedience will be yours
if you hold fast your confidence in him that hath
promised the ten fold in this world and life everlasting
in that which is to come highly favoured ones are
those that are called to seek sacrifice as will insure
them to inherit these great and precious promise
