My Dear Sister
notwithstanding I have not expressed a
my sympathy with thee during the season of trial, which thy
loss of health has occasiond. I have not been the less mindful
of the critical situation of thy complaints and have sincerely
lamented the distance between us with sisterly affection. thy letter
from New York was truly acceptable not only from the prospect
of receiving benefit from the Journey but of thy finding a
quiet retreat in the nursery of my dear little TN Barker.
thou will not think strange if I coveted a place by thy side to en
joy with thee the sleeping innocent. thy partial account of a
very dear part of my family is a cordial to my feelings and
hope thy may continue to merit the regard and attention of
their friends. I was a few minutes at Uncle Rotches this afternoon
his leg is much better so that he is about house the rest of the
family well. Edward desires his Aunt to accept his Love and
inform of his going to school with which he seems pleased
