My Dear Friend
Thy acceptable favour of 1st mo 6th came
safely to hand, but some time after date, and as I so much hoped to
meet with thee and thy beloved Husband, I omitted answering till
now, when my kin is the only resource to converse with you, was
sorry thou wart too much indisposed to attend the Quarterly Meeting
which was quite large and attended by our Friend Hinehman Haines
who communicated large in the first meeting and is I under-
stand designing to be with you before long---I have re-
=cieved several testimonials of rememberance from my dear Thos
since he left your habitation & one from his dear companion
expressive of their progressing in much harmony on this rugged
journey. I believe their were well satisfied with their turn to your
neighbourhood. After parting with they dear Husband spent two
tedious nights from amongst friends & the 3rd reached Cross Creek &
were kindly received by our frd Wm Farguhor, 5th day had a
meeting there & 6th day went to Smithfield to B.W Ladds , 7th to
J Taylor s the roads very heavy and tedious. First day had a meet
ing at Mt. Pleasant 2nd day to Smithfield M Meeting
then back to Short Creek then to Concord and Flushing M
Meetings in course, then turned their course, had a meeting
at Wheeling, another at the head of the Wheeling the 1st of the year
