My dear Aunt
I thought thou would like to know
a little more of the movements of our dear and valued
friend, Elias Hicks. He attended the month Meeting
of Green street, where in the first meeting, after E Hicks
had spoken, and taken his seat, Regina Shober, a
member of our meeting, who was a Church woman
a few years since, and has clearly proved to many
that she is not clear of their superstitions, who went
on purpose to oppose, what she thought rong doctrine,
of the society of which she is a member, not only
different from the belief of E Hicks, but, I believe, differ
ent from the belief of most amongst us, placing
our redemption on the sufferings and death of Jesus
Christ, without the gates of Jerusalem. and after she
took her seat, after appearing in supplication, to the
same purpose, three friends, Joseph Sansom, a son
of Johnathan Evans, and Sharon Carter, to sanction
what she had communicated, said, amen!
I with a number of others, left after the first meeting,
which we were sorry for, although it would have been a
time of suffering, had we have staid.
