I am sorry my dear Cousin so much time has elaps d
without answering thy affectionate acceptable letter, (I have often
thought of it but inability has as often prevailed,) indeed it
is a comfort to receive letters from our dear Friends when
far separated I have found it so in a particular manner
from my beloved DD & RY having received several since out
trying parting the last from dr DD dated Liverpool 10th mo 1s.
She had been enabled to get out to attend the Quarterly Meeting
of York & Lancashire very soon after her Husbands decease (He
died 1st of 9 mo) accompanied by her Dear Sister Fowler dr RY
had not returned from her Journey PH Gurney her Companion
D D mentioned although we had no doubt of the propriety of our separation
it had been mutually trying when she had in her absence lost
an amiable & truly affectionate Husband after an illness of two
weeks - & yet his peaceful close & being with him to the last
ought to raise the acknowledgment that mercy & truth has
followed me all my Life long. I should be pleased to have an
opportunity in person of communicating more to thee of some of
their excellent letters to me an unworthy one, for I believe thou
art nearly united to them. I have been anxious about a Letter from
them to thy brother William which my Father sent by post
inclosed in one to my Brother several months ago, I think William
has not mentioned receiving that one, and as I know how valuable
everything is from them I should be glad to hear it was not
lost I have felt much sympathy with you & my dr Aunt
