B-233-2
3rd day morn 23rd 1805
Dear Aunt Lydia having made thy proposi
tion to some of the younger branches of our
families to give thee weekly information of the
transactions in our Village, we have concluded to
make out a list, & each write in our turn, I be-
lieve the intention is to supply the place of
the Courier, but my communications will bear
a stronger resemblance to the Medley however
I have thy assurance that any thing will be
interesting- I will first report the progress of the
little commissions thou hast been kind enough
to entrust to my care. The caps are in a fair
train to be done soon; several already finished-
E Hyer is here at work, we have enquired her price
(without letting her know on what account) & she
thinks 5 dollars is as low as she could possibly do
them for; but if thou inclines to send them my
mother thinks she could get the common one
done by another person for 4 dollars, & we will
very willingly take charge of them I believe
Aunt L- wrote thee the day after our dear friend
departure, on first day eveg there was a large col-
lection of young people at Grandfathers when our
dear M was fervently engaged both in testimony
& supplication, & followed by friend J Davis in the
like exercise; thus my dear Aunt we have line
upon line & precept upon precept far beyond
our deserts, great indeed will be our condemnation
