Boston 4th Mo 25. 1824
I have been waiting my dear Aunt to collect
materials for a letter, of sufficient interest to send
thee; & having expected to pass next mo in N Bedford
I thot intelligence of thy friends from there, would
be more acceptable than any thing I might find
in this City. but finding there will be no vaca-
tion at Dr Parke s school we have resolved to con
tinue here until Autumn- I hear often from my
brothers & sisters, but they do not convey much
news- Thou hast probably been informed from
there of Aunt Mary Rotch s journey to Phila with
Mary Newhall, from apprehended duty- it seems
many years ago MN- laid her concern to visit
that city before Lynn Mo meetg, but some of the
disaffected towards her opposed it & she gave it
up, but has never felt released, nor has the
time arrived entirely open- I saw her the week
previous to her leaving home, & attended a little
meetg she appointed amongst the poor people
at Nahant, to whom she preached in very great
simplicity, & with much power- we returned
home with her, & she gave me an account of the
to go to Phila
progress of this requisition^ she said she had felt
as if she could do nothing to make a way for the journey
