Will you oblige^ my dear Madam by excep-
ting the work[illegible] which accompanies this; it is the offering of
one who will ever recollect with the most sincere gratitude and
pleasure the many flattering marks of affection you have
shown her; and it will be her first wish not to prove unworthy
of them;
Mama has almost determined to send my
little brother to an excellent school kept in this town
it will give me great pleasure for I can see him every
day; We have a vacation this and the next week. Mama
thought there was no great necessity of my spending it in
Providence. I had been from home so short a time ..
I make quite rapid progress in French and have begun
