My beloved Friend
I little thought when I parted with thee
in New England that such a length of time would have
lapsed, without hearing from each other, tho' the persua-
sion hath remained from that it hath not been owning to
a diminution of that mutual love which subsisted between
in whilst together, and I trust was and will continue
to be precious to us both. I wrote to dear sister Lydia
from Hudson the fore part of the twelfth mo. giving some
information of my being released to return home which
I reached about the 19th but as I have not heard from
her since, have been somewhat doubtful of its getting safe
to hand. Have had no information lately of our
beloved Gervis, when I heard last which was about six
weeks past, he was at Otego 80 miles west from Hudson
on his return from Canada having visited the northern
parts of New York, and not more than nine or ten meetings
