Thomas Rotch
Esteemed friend Mount Pleasant 3rd mo 24th 1822
I have been lately thinking what shall be done with my
house in Mountpleasant, and am at a loss how to decide, my in-
tention in building that house was in order to be near meeting
more especially on my wifes account than my own, since
her deceas things have been in an unsetled way, I am of the
opinion that I shall be best satisfied that it should be retain
ed as a home for Friends at our large meeting, before any
thing further is done, I wish to consult thee on the occasion
I cant well afford to keep it unoccupyed, I am willing if
it can be brought about to hold a fourth part of the value
and have it at the disposal of the company which may
in part answer the design in the first, as above menti
=oned; there hath been several propositions lately, as making
a printing hose; Boarding hose etc, that do not
meet my approbation, I wish thee to take up the
case and try to make something of it, and let me know
as early as may be, I do not want to be in any unpro-
=fitable hurry, if there is any prospect of doing what
would bring it near what was talked of at the time
of the Yearly meeting. I shall be much gratifyed.
