Loudonville Richland Co O. July 6th 1821
My much respected Friend
T Rotch Esqr. I rec'd a few moments since
your letter, and am extreemly obliged to you for
your particular kindness in answering mine, although
I must frankly confess I was griev'd that you should be put
to so much trouble for so ill deserving and unworthy a
creature as I am, -- but I will say no more as I am
certain the feelings of a benevolent mind feels its own
reward in doing a virtuous or kind deed to any of the human
race -----
In consequence of my being absent while the court set[illegible]
this Country I got no order to sell property, but perhaps
I can obtain leave from the court in County as the
House is in that County, if not I shall endeavour to
attend to it, the next court in this, - and then advertise
to sell it according to your advice. ---
I hope you and my dear Mrs. Rotch will room here, you
will be recd with open arms to my humble Cottage---
Hoyland is in usual health and unites her requests with mine,
and sincerely hopes you will disapoint her expectations.
