Ulto I duly recd - the account thou gives me of
your progress and the natural advantage of Kendal
affords me great satisfaction; especially there being
so many Mill Seites, so contiguous thereto, a power
so much cheaper & less complicated than that of
Steam - depending on the latter, we have been for
days at a stand from a shaft breaking and other parts
of the Engine out of order, whereby the loss and repairs
has been equal to 1 to 2000 Dollars.
Also with much satisfaction I notice thy Kind
anxiety for my welfare in every sense, and it was
peculiarly grateful to me in a strange and remote
