Dear Brother
I have just recd a draft from Ebe, H Mix
dated Isle of Georgia February 26. 1801 upon Cowles, Deming
Cowles & Co Farmington in favour of Howes Swain endorsed
to me, for $281.66/100 at 30 days after sight, knowing no one
nearer than thyself, I solicit thy attention in sending
by some careful hand for Collection, and if honoured
advise me thereof & place to the Credit of my Acct
J Hoeg left us this morning for Providence after visiting
Nantucket a second time, & fixing with Jos Wing to join him
there agin at the Quy Meeting to go to St Johns Island of
Nova Scotia - We are all in usual health ~
Last 6th day evening abt Sunset Peleg Hattleston while
milking in his barn was in an awful & momentary man

-ner deprived of Life ^ the end of the Barn was torn to pieces
in a wonderful manner a horse & cow killed and
a horse standing between those two, left unhurt. it
appears to have had serious effect upon many, and the
funeral which was between Meetings on first day was
here
the largest I have seen ^ since residing in this place.
he had latterly several times expressed his apprehension
of his approaching desolution, which was spoken off by J Hoeg
at a meeting at Acushnet 10 days before as a probable event
to some one present which appeared to take deep hold of Peleg's
mind at the time & he remark'd upon it the same day at S Hathaway
