Respected Friend, Being much of a
Stranger to the Booksellers in Hartford,
& how it may be best to dispose of my
Books there fore all, I herewith
send & commit 26 of them to thy care
to be sold at 125 Cents each.
P.D. Cooke's name is ment'd as a Tender
of he Work there, with a horn, or any
other suitable person, as it shall appear
best, some of them may be left for sale,
allowing one for every dozen sold.
It is expected, that Booksellers will
advertise the Work, as they do other Books,
annexing the Recommendation thereto,
which will be a means of introducing
it to public notice & use. I enclose
some to be affixed at the Bookstores, where sold.
The expense of publication having far
exceeded my expectations, & the first estimate
of the printers, led to a prospect of selling
