We think proper to inform you
that it is our intention to leave this place on our journey
to your Country, on or about the 18th Instant, should
have been on our way ere this, had not various disappoint
-ments in arranging our affairs prevented, but as the we-
ather is favourable we hope for a pleasant journey, we
shall leave our friends in this quarter the more cheer
full under an impression intended by what we have
gratefully experienced, that we are about to journey
out to a land of strangers, but to meet some of our
best friends from whoom we have received much
kindness and attention, which we can assure you mer-
its and we trust has excited our warmest gratetude.
We hope that in our society
and that of our families you may experience such
satisfaction as shall in part compensate for all you
have done. with sentiments of Regard and
Esteem we remain your friends
