Description	A letter to Thomas Rotch from John Parrish, prominant Philadelphia Quaker minister and reformer who with other members of the Society of Friends signed an anti-slavery petition to Congress in 1783 in which they voiced their objection to the institution of slavery and called for the abolition of slavery and the slave trade. In this letter Parrish tells Rotch that he is sending 25 anti-slavery pamphlets for distribution to like-minded Friends. 7.8" x 9.9" (19.8 by 25.1 cm)

Full Text	B-135-1 Philadelphia 6 mo 2nd 1806 Esteemed Friend, I have used the freedom to send to thy care 25 pamphlets on the subject of slavery, which are inclosed in sheets which I wish thee to direct to such persons in your state as thou may think they will be most likely to answer the end for which they are intended. And it is desirable to know to whom they are sent when opportunity presents so that two may not be sent to the same person. from thy real friend John Parrish
