In consequence of thy communication,
I convened this morning most of the Members of the Meeting for Sufferings in Town, and taking into consideration the subject of thy Letter, were untied in
sentiment, that at present friends had better not make any move in a Society capacity - and as we are not fully possessed of the nature of the Case, so
as to give any direct advice in the premiums, we wish to suspend our result untill we may have a conference with Richd Jordan, who is expected here in a few day's, & should an interview with him be so seasonable as to qualify us to decide on any clear prospect, we may communicate the result previous to thy setting out for the Yearly Meeting-if not, we are inclined to believe the subject had better rest for the present - we are however pretty much impressed with the belief that in case an application to the Legislature is thought expedient, it will be most
