Esteemed friend
Thomas Rotch
My father in law wrote thee on the
23rd Ult informing thee that I Dean could not pay any
part of his bond to thee when I was there, & not more than
one half this spring, & wished thee to wait another year
for the remaining half - I recd a letter from him
stating
yesterday^that the person to whom he had sold his
place was desirous of paying the whole of the purchase
money this spring, therefore he wishes the bond and
mortgage to be sent to Adam Mott @ Nine partners
by the 25th of next month or sooner if convenient, when
he will pay the whole Amount. If this mode is
agreeable to thee, it will be necessary to empower by
father to cancel the mortgage when [illegible], say by a
power of atty for the express purpose. - & should thou
forward one I will immediately send it to my father
the bond & mortgage &
with ^directions to remit the money in some safe way
Thine with esteem
James Mott Jnr.
