Description	In this letter, Thomas Rotch entrusts his household goods to the care of Capt Bennajiah Mason for shipment on the sloop Polly for the sum of $10 from New Bedford to Hartford, Connecticut. Charity and Thomas Rotch relocated to Hartford to pursue Merino sheep farming that would eventually lead them to north east Ohio. He further notes that his goods are to be transported by cart to a house that stands in the South part of the town. Goods transported to Hartford included candles, hardware, glass and porcelain, soap, a desk and bookcase, large and small scales, stoves, iron doors and candles, perhaps all of these goods for sale in the store that Rotch would open in Hartford. 8.35" x 13" (21 by 33.5 cm)

Full Text	A-29-5 - Page 1 - To Capt Bennajiah Mason Agreeable To Contract I accept thy offer to [illegible] thy vessel for the sum of Ten Dollars and have put on board the following articles of Household & other goods which Thou art to carry to Hart ford in the State of Connecticut and at my expence have Carted to the House which I have contracted to hire of Jeremiah Wardsworth of that City, which stands in the south part of it, and to have it properly secured by good Locks and should thou be at a loss respecting any part of the business, that, advice from any person there can be useful to thee I recommend thee to the above Capt Wardsworth, from whose civility to me when there, I have reason to believe will chearfully give thee any assistance in this way -- The Candles Thou must have stored near the Wharf, with some safe person, request Capt Wardsworth to give thee a name that will take care of them, & take a rect for them -
