Dear Friend
At the request of Elias Hicks
I furnish thee with a receipt for the cholic
particularly of the billious kind, I have used it in
many instances in my own family, as well as
at the boarding school, and it has seldom missed
of releiving, and a number of my acquaintance
have found it to be so efficatious as not to be
without it - The ingredients are - Two ounces of sena,
two ounces liquorish stick, two ounces of fennel seed, two ounces
anniseed, two ounces of lignumvita, tow ounces Juniper berries,
two ounces of allicompane, two ounces sassafarilla, two pounds
raisins stones, put these into half a gallon of old brandy,
put it in a warm place and it will be fit for use in
a few days - take half a wine glass at a time occationally.
many of the above ingredients will require pounding,
which the apothecary attends to who I get it of - It will
when the brandy is strained off bear filling use.
We looked for thy Charity here to accompany the
committee in attending the quarterly and other meetings
