Dear Friend Philadelphia 5 mo 2, 1814
Having a good opportunity to Canton I send
thee a few Lines, I hope this may find you all
in good Health and in and Improving way
I presume this must be the case from what
I observed by the letters recd by My Wife from
thee, I am sensible the Land that was entered
by thee for my wife has been entered nearly two
years and as this is the Case I shall feel much
obliged to thee if thou will have the goodness
to attend to the Business as she informs me that
thou has funds of hers in thy Hands sufficient or
nearly so to pay the amount due on the to
Quarters entered by thee for Her. She is
from Home and will not return before 10 Days
and as I cannot find the receipts thou forwarded to
her I wish thee to attend to the Business, she has
been absent some time and I did not recollect
them before it went & I cannot say when the
first becomes due, but I think it is the first of
24 or 5 of this month what ever may be the ballance
