                          Trenton 10th mo 25th 1812
    Respected Friend,
               Various circumstances have occurred since we
  parted to prevent my writing. Added to my indisposition at Pittsburgh,
  Rd was taken down with the same complaint the first night of our 
  arrival in Jersey.  Since his recovery we have been pretty constantly
  engaged in viewing the various farms that have been offered to us.
  We find very advantageous exchange of the landed estate in 
  Trenton could be made - had we the power at this time to make
  it. Our friend TR would greately oblige us by authorizing my
  brother Stockton to call on his name for a division of the estate
  as also to deed it away when necessary.  The farm we have a 
  prospect of getting is within three miles of this place. it will
  be needfull we should have an order on my brother Stockton 
  for the balance of the money in his hands. Also on my Uncle 
  Charles for whatever money may be doue. He now has ready 
  for us One hundred ninety two Dollars $192.00. We should 
  like to have a copy of the minues thou hast made of the
  original bond & smaller notes from my brother George. Also 
  of the note given by my brother Stockton to Rd mentioning the
  triffle due from him. He (my brother S) is particularly desirous 
  to know whether the two hundred sixty dollars have
