Pretty soon after my return from
Kendal I went to Washington to see Scott to pur-
pose [illegible] Quarter section on, Sippo but [illegible]

[illegible] take care of more than 20, as he had recd
[illegible] survey at Canton giving him as his opinion
that it would in a short time sell for that price; but he
said he was about entering into business with a person
whom he expected in 10 days or 2 weeks and he might pos-
sibly be willing to take 12 in which case he would
write me but I have recd nothing from him and

of course I have^ expectation of geting it, and have altogether
relinquished the Idea of it. Our family are favoured
with usual Health except our little daughter Ann who
[illegible] fall got one of her leggs broken but is in a fair way
[illegible] If spared with life and recollection I shall [illegible]
