Jericho ye 19th of 12th Mo 1794
Esteemed Friend
Thomas Rotch
Thine of 7th of 7th mo last came duly to hand
and its contents were very acceptable, being well Pleased with
thy Prospect of accompanying our Beloved Friend Joshua Evans
in his Eastern Journey, and hope the satisfaction thou hast Derived
therefrom, may not only be for the present, a Pleasant Cordial
But also afford Incouragement, for further and Varied Services
in the Blessed Masters Vineyard, Wherein I trust thou art in
some Measure Senseable, there is Need of many more faithful
Labourers- Therefore let me say Dear Young Friend, seek
no Evasions nor suffer distrust to enter. So as to Discourage
from attending to the Requirings of known Duty. Reason not
with flesh and Blood, altho at the first opening of the Seals
thu may be almost amazed. And ready to cry out with a
Servatn formerly, Wo, is me for I am Undone, for I am
a Man of Unclean lips, and I Dwell among a people of
unclean lips, But Remember there was the love Coal to
Cleanse his lips, and a Power to Make willing as there was
a Yielding to it, so that when the Voice was heard, Whom
Shall I send, and who will go for us, he was Ready. Saying
here am I. Send me. And O that thou, and thy
Beloved Companion may be at all times Ready, and Indure
the turning of the Lords hand in its preparatory opperations
Ever Remembering, that the Lords people, those who are
devoted to this service, are made a Willing People in the Day
of his Power
