Beloved Friend
Thomas Rotch
Since my Return, which was
on the 2d of last Month, I have oft had to look towards
my friends in the Eastern Country, Many of Whom I
have Remembered, with near affection, and among those
thyself and Dear Charity, have not been the least
thought of my me, But have often been in Remembrance
with Near Sympathy. And ardent are my Wishes, for
your preservation and Improvement in the line of Divine
appointment. that to the intentions of Holy Creating
Love, concerning you may not be frustrated.
O, my Dear Young Friends, May you carefully
improve the Resent opportunity. Dont plead
excuses because ye are Young, but Consider that the
weight of the Testimony, Must Shortly devolve-
upon the Shoulders of eh Youth, and None are more
fit for Labour in the Lords Vineyard, than those in
the prime and Vigour of their Lives. Have a
Care of the Deceitfulness of Riches, least they Steal
away the Mind, and lull it asleep in a Security,
Short of Bearing the Daily Cross, for they are Snares
hat ever lurk around those that Possess them, so that
such have need to be always guarded, against their
alluring Baits. It is not my dear friends
that I have any thing to Charge you with on these
accounts-
