  Beloved Friend
     we are now assembling in
  order to attend the quarterly Meeting
  at which we expected thy company, and
  thy Charity also, but it seems to be other
  ways ordered. Hinksman Hanes and
  Samuel Roberts from Jersey are here
  who came by the way of Canady, they
  think the snow to the North of us is 4
  feet deep. Brother John has a certifi
  cate from our Monthly meeting in
  order to pay a religious visit to Friends
  and others within the limits of Balti-
  more Philadelphia New York and
  New England yearly Meetings.
  If his concern should be united with
  by this quarter it is probable he will
  be absent from us from 12 to 18 months
  to set out the last of next month, with
  Thomas Wickersham for companion
