Dear Thomas Wheeling 11 mo 7th 1814
I am very much mortified
and Shagrined, in being under the
necessity of informing thee, that
the young Man, that had it in
go to
Contemplation, to ^ Kendal to amek brick
had ingaged another year; with his
same employer, before thy Letter
came to hand, He was out of Town
when thy letter came, as I Should
have announced it sooner, I fondly
hope it will be no disappointment
we still talk about Kendal, and if the
way should oppen in best Wisdom
to go there I should be glad - Franklin
sais there moves is as bad as a fire therefore
I must look well to the [illegilbe] I am still
doing a little at the old trade of
Basket making but storekeeping
would suit me much better but perhaps
