Friend Rotch
Yours of the 19th of Jany
was duely recd you say its out of your power
me
to assist ^ this I much regret & am under the
humiliating necessity of renewing my request
with such variations as may be within your
power to comply with I would not beg for
purposes
favours that was only to answers^of speculation
but I beg for assistance to pay my honest debts
since I wrote you last I have had a line from
the man in N York whom I owe. He accuses me
of not doing as well as was in my power & says he
will positive [illegible] me to the payment immedi
ately if I do not pay him a part of whats his due
& it would be like death to me to be sued
at this time. I therefore most fervently entreate of you
to assist me to a draft of 300$ on N York or some
other place so that it might answer my debt there
I must be that you could get a draft to that amount
answered there among some of your friends. I would be
sure to pay you at shearing time either in wool
