Over the years, this affair has come to be one of the most de¬ lightful and stimulating eve¬ nings in the calendar of the con¬ gregation. The business aspect of the meeting is held to a mini¬ mum through the circulation of printed reports containing brief summaries of the manysided activities of Temple Israel. Through this procedure the Con¬ gregation is kept informed and yet the routine of tho busines.v at the moeting is reduced con¬ siderably.
Undoubtedly, one of the chief factor.'^ which has contributed to the growth of interest in these anniial occasions has heen the high quality of the invited guest speakers. Many of the most representative and scholarly men in the American Jewish l)uii)it have appeared hefore the audiences. This year, this high level will be maintained in the presence of Dr. B. Benedict Glazer, Detroit, Mich., as the speaker. Dr. Glazer is one of the most gifted of the younger generation of American Rab- Ws. A graduate of the Hebrew Union College, fbrmerly asso¬ ciated with the pulpit in Pitts¬ burgh, and later, Chief Assist¬ ant lo Dr. Samuel H. Golden¬ son, Temple Emanu-El. New York Cily, he has had a most distinguished career thus far in his ministry and his assumption of the post in Detroit as head of one of the largest Jewish con¬ gregations in the world bespeak favorably the unusual quality of the man.
In addition to hearing the ad¬ dress of Dr. Glazer, which will he entitled "Mental Health Ln an Abnormal Age", the congre¬ gation will elect officers and trustees for the ensuing year and hear the report of the presi¬ dent, Mr. L. J. Goodman, iind a short address hy Rabbi Samuel M. Gup.
Trustees of the Congregation, their wive.s. and the members of the Board of the Sisterhood and their husbands, together with numerous others, will serve as hosts and hostesses at the event. The members of the Congrega¬ tion are asked to immediately .send in their reservation cards, or to .notify the Temple Office, so thajt adetjuate accommoda¬ tions can be made.
