The Dlc.<i Committee Investi¬ gating un-American activities is preparing to prove that the Bund received millions of -dol¬ lars from Germany to finance its NaKti activities here . . . This doesn't surprise us . . .And if the Dies Committee wants enough data to Jail Fritsi Kuhn we are ready to supply the Information . , . . LONDON (WNS)— The ulti¬ mate objective of the British Government proposals for a solution of the Palestine prob¬ lem, as made public to the Arab and Jewish delegations, will be an Independent State of Pales¬ tine, neither Arab nor Jewish but possibly Federal. The Brit¬ ish plan involves a minority status for the Jews of Palestine and restriction of Jewish immi¬ gration and land sales to Jews. A provision of the plan is that the Jewish National Home is to be safeguarded. The Inde¬ pendent State Is to be preceded by a transitional period which has not.been fixed exactly, but which the Government hopes will be ten years, if Jewish co¬ operation can be secured In that time. Great Britain plans not
!.£„
to relinquish her responsibility for Palestine unless such co¬ operation is achieved.
Meanwhile, as soon as order has been restored In Palestine, Jewish ahd Arab representatives are to be added to both the Ad¬ visory and the Executive Coun¬ cils; and these representatives are to be named by the Govern¬ ment according to the respective proportions of the Jewish and Arab populations. The Govern¬ ment expresses the. hope that after two years these representa¬ tives will he elected by the citizens of Palestine themselves. The High Commissioner, ac¬ cording to the proposals, will have special powers for prohibit ing and regulating the zones for purchase of land by the Jews.
