Begin-Sadat
Summit Due
In December
By Yitzhak Shargil
lTEL AVIV, <JTA) -
Premier Menachem Begin
and President Anwar Sadat
of Egypt will have another
summit meeting, probably
in December, in Haifa, the
scene of their last previous /
meeting, it was learned
recently. They are not expected to meet, as reported
earlier, at* the Santa
Katerina Monastery in Sinai
where Sadat will attend
ground-breaking ceremonies
Nov. 19 for a house of worship of the Christian, Jewish
and Moslem faiths to be built
at the foot of Mt. Sinai. -
Hassan Kamal, Sadat's
bureau chief, said today that
the Egyptian leader planned
no pageant or other spectacular at Santa Kateriiia to
mark the' second anniversary of his first visit to
Israel. No heads of state nor
other foreign dignitaries had
- -been invited, Kamal said. He *
added, however, that the
plans could change. There1
was no confirmation of
reports that Begin was incited to attend the groundbreaking ceremonies.
The three-faith house of
worship in Sinai is a project
announced by Sadat some
time ago. Plans for the
structure call for a single entrance hall that will give
access to three separate
wings, each of which will
containjts own shrine.
Tifereth Israel Religious School
Students Celebrate High Holidays
Members of the Bet classes made their own New Year's greeting cards using silk
screen equipment purchased for the school by the Men's Club.
Food plays an important part in the Jewish holiday cycle, and bread has a very
unique place. The contrast between the shape of the Challah baked for Rosh
Hasbanah and that used for Shabbat was discussed. Students in the entire school from
Kindergarten through- Daled baked individual challas that were used in their own
homes for dinner before beginning the ¥om Kippur fast.
Simchat Torah puts a joyous finish to the High Holidays, and members of the
Elementary Department made their own flags and miniature Torahs to enhance the
hakafot. Pictured are two members of the Daled class writing a Hebrew inscription in
their Torahs, and some of the finished Torahs and flags.

Failure to make a distinction
between the Palestine Liberation Organization and
Palestinian Arabs, was cited
here by a member of the
Senate Foreign Relations
Committee as a factor "in
some erosion of support for
past Middle East positions"
even among "traditional liberal groups" in the United
States.
That analysis was made
by Sen. Joseph Biden (D.
Del.), who spoke at the open-
ing session of an
International Leadership
Conference jointly sponsored by the Zionist
Organization of America,
the Latin American Confederation of General Zionists
and the American Confederation of General Zionists
and the Zionist Organization

to conduct an in-depth examination of the most critical
issues affecting Israel and
world Jewry in response to
recent developments in the
United States, the Middle
East and the Soviet Union.
Biden told the 400 people at
the opening session that the
erosion of support for past
Mideast positions involved
changing conditions "on the
domestic scene" from which—
U.S. Middle East policy "is
not immune." He said that
there is also genuine confusion on the part of most
Americans because of their "'
misunderstanding" of the
West Bank settlement policy
of Premier Menachem
Begin's government. He said
"I personally stand by
Prime Minister Begin's
decision in this regard."
