. NEW YORK (WNS) - The Federal Bureau of
Prisons has agreed to provide Jewish inmates of
".-federal prisons-with kosher meat, poultry and fish,
according to Sidney Kwestel, president of the National
, Jewish Commission- on Law and Public Affairs
(COLPA). COLPA helped negotiate the agreement in
cooperation with the representatives of the National
( Council of Young Israel, the Union of OrthodoxJewish"
- Cbngregatipns of America and the Rabbinical Council
of America, all Orthodox organizations. Kwestel said
that all Jewish prisoners can receive the kosher food as
,. long' as they do notTconsume non-kosher foods. »They
* will also receive special kosher utensils.
, TEL AVIV (WNS) — Tuvia Friedman, head of the
:"• Niizi Documentation Center in Haifa, has urged the
Israeli governmentand the Jewish Agency to provide
official observers at all Nazi war crime trials. Hesaid
the lack of such observers may be the reason for the
Jight, sentences or acquittals given by German and
Austrian courts since they may, have felt there was a
i, lack of interest by the victims of the Nazis. Friedman
. was commenting on the acquittal in a Hamburg court
-of Karl Streibel, a former death camp commandant
and five camp guards who were accused of the murder
of a million Jews.
BRUSSELS (WNS) - The draft of a measure that
would describe terrorist acts as "criirHnal" and

Ford Admin. Opposes New Boycott Legislation;
Simon Says None Necessary At This Time
*(.
By Helen Silver
WASHINGTON (JTA) -
The Ford Administration's
record on the Arab boycott
against Israel was reviewed
by a variety of supporters-
and defenders in statements
to - several - Congressional..
committees June , 10. The
principal defender was
Treasury Secretary William
E. Simon, who told the House
International " Relations
Committee that "no addi¬
tional legislation is neces¬
sary or ' desirable at this,
time." He. said new legis¬
lation "would be detrimental
to the. totality of United
States interests both here
"and in the Middle East:"
Simon said. "We have had
talks with Arab and Israeli
leaders and with leaders! of

blacklist of American firms
and. individuals having
dealings with Israel. He
warned ihe committee that
"we will invite Arab intimi¬
dation of every corporation,
every religious and ethnic
group and every individual
in our country unless the list
is fought now."
Will Maslow, general
- counsel of the American
Jewish Congress, and
Seymour Graubard, national
chairman of the Anti-Defa¬
mation League of B'nai
B'rith, both testified before
the House' committee that
the Administration policy of
voluntary anti-boycott
action had failed. They said
that many businessmen
would be willing to defy the'
Arab threats if they had laws
on the books backing {heir
stand. Dr. Arthur F. Burns,
^Federal Reserve. Board
chairman, asserted that
American banks* had a
major role in the boycott and
