In Jerusalem Israel's recent Immigration increases have created a labor shortage, instead of the feared unetnploy- ment, the Bank of Israel reported in an economic survey issued. In the current full-employment labor market, the survey showed, newcomers are not only absorbed readily, but their addition to the population creates higher demands for goods and services, thus causing a labor shortage. In Tel Aviv, Yaakov Baror, former Tel Aviv district attorney and a prosecutor in the Adolf Eichmann trial, was sentenced this week to three months' imprisonment after pleading guilty to charges of having obtained an attorney's license under fal.se pretenses. In Tcl Aviv, prospecting for oil in several areas of Israel will be begun soon by a new American firm, the Asher Corporation, it was announced here by Wesley Hancock, of Wilmington, Del., one of the heads Ot the firm. The Asher Corporation will drill for oil on the western slopes of Lower Galilee, in the Jezreel Valley and on Mount Carmei, Mr. Hancock said.
