Ben Seiferas, president of the Columbus Hebrew School and Irving Gold, president of the PTA, will present citations to the fol¬ lowing paat presidents; Columbua Hebrew School - Albert A. Blank, Ben Greenberg, Dr. A. H. Kanter, Dr. M. P. Kanter, Jacob Krako¬ witz, Louis M. Levin, Robert L. Mellman, Frank Leon J. Seff. R. Nutis and Larry A. Mr. and Mrs. Helaer travel 180 miles each Sunday tn order that Larry and his brothers, Jeffrey and Bruce, can attend Religious School. Larry Is an honor student in the seventh grade of Troop B7 under the auspices of the Chief Logan Council with headquarters In Chiiiicothe. His interests encomjmss aill sports and he ia a member of the junior high basketball team. In scouting he holds the rank of Star and has been assistant Patrol Leader and now holds the position of Quartermaster. He plays clarinet in the inter¬ mediate band and in the school choir. Larry Is studying for his Bar Mitzvah under the direction of Cantor Irving Schreier and is looking forward to celebrating it on AprU 23. The after¬ noon will be stardusted with glamour, gaiety, music, suspense and a trip to the newspaper world with Nan Robertson, journalist of the New York Times. Death Verdict For Nazi To Be Appealed JERUSALEM, (JTA>—Dr. RobeH Servatius, who will be the defense counsel for Adolf Eiohmann in the trial here March 15, aaid that if'Eichmann, who directed the mass-annihilation of 6,000,000 Jews under Hitler, ia convicted and sentenced to death, the verdict would be appealed immediately. The Cologne attorney expressed the hope that the Bichmaim trial would not last longer than two months. He also said he hoped that only a part of the 5000 pages of Eichmann's contesaions, made in reply to police Interrogations, would be read Into the court rec¬ ord and thus shorten the pro- ceedinga. DR. SERVATIUS revealed that the Eichmann family received about $5000 for Eichmann's mem¬ oirs published in Lite and that the family gave him $4000 of that sum as part of his defense fee. Dr. Servatius made theae points to press representatives before leaving Israel temporarily for West Germany. He explained his departure as due to the fact that he still had not been given a charge sheet or a copy of the evidence against his client. He had arrived in Israel with an¬ nounced plana to remain for the trial. ASSEBTINO HE should have been Informed of a decision to postpone presentaUon ot the charge sheet, he told reporters at the airport that if he had been notified, he would have postponed his arrival. A last minute decision by the proaecutlon to introduce changes in the charge sheet caused delay In its completion. The attorney also complained about the refusal of Israeli au¬ thorities to allow him to meet privately with Blchmann. He said the Israelis Insisted there should be no direct contact between Eichmauin and anyone and that, even now, his talks with hia client were held In the presence of a guard. HE SAID THAT during his stay In West Germany, he would meet with the chairman of the local bar association to discuss with hUn that refusal. STARTING AT 9;30 p.m, danc¬ ing will highlight the first hour until floor ahow Ume, Laddie Finke will emcee a variety show featuring Gall Ruben, a singer of popular tunes, Marilyn Samelson doing comedy sketches and Dr, I. Cabakoff singling selections from legitimate musicals. Steve Stellman will accompany the mu¬ sical numbers. Gives His Notice To President Jerusalem, (JTA) Prime Minister Ben-Gurion resign¬ ed Tuesday after having summoned a special meet¬ ing of the Cabinet to submit his resignation to President Itzhak Ben-Zvi, thus bring¬ ing about the automatic res¬ ignation of the Cabinet. Un¬ der the law, Ben-Gurion and his Cabinet will continue as the caretaker government. In his letter of resignation, Ben- Gurlon said "My understanding of my obligations forbid me to bear reapons'WIity for the cabinet decision on Dec. 25 as this would be incompatible with principles of Justice and the basic laws of the State." This was a reference to a cabi¬ net meeting which accepted the report of a seven meml>er minis¬ terial committee which exonerat¬ ed former Defense Miniater Pin- haa Lavon of charges that he had given the orders that resulted in a security mishap In 1954. Lavon, now Secretary General of Hista¬ drut, resigned under protest as Defense Minister in 1956. Acting Prime Minister Levi Eshkol announced the govern- oumt's resig;naitlon in the Knesset. His formal statement waa fol¬ lowed try a request for debate, but this was shelved when, on l>e- half of the caretaker government, Eshkol expressed objection. The opposition party, spear¬ headed by the general Zionists and Herut plan are facing a de¬ bate next week by rounding up the necessary number of signar tures of Knesaet members. Kaplan for having helped to es¬ tablish the "Ida and Maurice Levin Building" of the new Den¬ tal School Unked with the He¬ brew University. NON-CONFIDENCE MOTION OVER UVON AFFAIR DEFEATED JERUSALEM, (JTA)~A mo¬ tion of non-confidence tn the Cabinet over Prime Mlnteter David Ben-Qurion's stand con¬ cerning the Lavon Affair was defeated in the Knesset, Israel's Parliament, by a vote of 77 to 26. The motion had been Introduced Jointly by Herut and the General Zionists, neither of which parties is a member of the coalition (Jov¬ ernment. The National Religious party, which is a member of the coali¬ tion, did not support the non-confi¬ dence motion or take part In the Knesset debate. However, three of the parties that voted against the motion—Mapam, Ahdut Avo¬ dah and the Progressives—Issued statements opposing Ben-Guriori's request that Pinhas Lavon, secre¬ tary-general of Histadrut, Israel's Federation of Lal)or, resign froim his post. In the del>ate on tlie motion, speakers representtjjg theae parUes indicated dissatis¬ faction with the Prime Minister's actlona tn the Lavon Affair.
