Some older Columbusite3 will remember such BBW shows as "Pack Up Your Trebles," "Awake and Swing," "Steppln' High," and many other.9. Rehearsals will start on Tuesday, Oct 18, 8 p.m., at the Jewish Center, with Gladys Little Thomas of Stadium and Play¬ ers fame as director, choreographer, etc. Anyone who fits into one of these categories is asked to call Mrs. Sam Schwartz, BE. 1-0863, or Mrs. Howard Goldstein, CL. 8-9414 to reserve a featured spot in the production of "B. B. op Parade." Yom Kippur Dance To Feature Joe Susi A lively evening of entertainment, dancing and food is in store for those planning to attend the annual Yom Kippur dance at the Jewish Center, Saturday night, Oct. 1 from 9:30 until the spirit runs out. Stu Newpoff has secured the music of Joe Susi and his band who will provide music for dancing aa well as for those Who enjoy just listening. Susi is well-known for his top musicians, bringing the latest dance styles as well as some of the popular dances of past years. LOCAL ENTERTAINERS, not seen recently, will highlight the floor show of the evening. Emcee Laddie Pinke needs no introduc¬ tion. His wit and t;Hmor make any show sparkle. Bernie Doctor wiil lend his smooth singing voice in some of the recent hit tunes. A new singing team will share the spotlight, Abby and Trudy Green coming forth with a talent they have kept hidden since their ar¬ rival on the Columbus scene. Elstelle Center, too long away from community productions, will delight the audience with her medley of recent show tunes. Merrymakers on that evening will be treated to a special "command" performance by the incomparable "Andrews Sisters" (Al GIngold, Alan Gihsburg and Larry Rob¬ bins). ROUNDING OUT the floor show will be a piano medley by the talented Steve Stellman. Under the supervision of Mrs. Marvin Rose and Mrs. Nate Nate, man, the auditorium of the Cen¬ ter will take on a new atmosphere with their decorations commem¬ orating the 10th anniversary of the Jewish Center. MRS. JOE Altman Is busy mak, ing plans for her bagel and lox buffet for the evening. President, Candidates Send Greetings To Community Nixon Joe Susl The Yom Kippur dance Is spon sored this year by the Swim and Tennis Committees who are sell¬ ing tickets In order to raise funds for lighting these areas. Tickets may be secured from any member of these committees as well as at the Center desk. Ad¬ mission is $3.50 per couple for Center members, $5 per couple for non-members. M. I. DANINHIRSCH IS NEW ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF JFS Justin L. Sillman, president of the Jewish Family Service, has announced the appointment of Murray I. Danlnhirsch as asso¬ ciate director of the Jewish Fam¬ ily Service. Danlnhirsch replaces Lazar D. Brener who was recently appointed executive director of the new Columbus Jewish Home for the Aged. Danlnhirsch is a qualified and experienced social worker. He re¬ ceived his bachelor of social science degree from the College of the City of New York and his master of social work degree trom the Department Of Social Work, Carnegie Institute of Tech¬ nology. SILLMAN STATED that, "Dan¬ lnhirsch is a welcome addition and an asset to the staff of the Jewish Family Service. With his rich background and experience, the Agency will continue its growth and development to meet the Individual and family needs of the Columbus Jewish com¬ munity." Daninhirsch's many years of ex¬ perience include positions as case worker in' the family and child welfare fields and the war re¬ location services. He was Child Welfare Consultant, Louisiana State Department of Public Wel¬ fare and Chief Social Worker, Veterans Administration Office, Columbus, O. Plan Meeting The (Columbus B'nai B'rith Council, representing Zion Chapter, Candlelight Chapter, Buckeye Lodge and Zion Lodge, will play host to a statewide meeting of the Ohio Association of B'nai B'rith Lodges and the Ohio State Association of B'nai B'rith Women, to be held at the Deshler-HUton Hotel on Oct, 22 and 23, As now tentatively planned, the program calls for registration d reception of delegates on Saturday evening, Oct. 22, followied by a banquet starting at 7 p,m,, when Theodore Marks, president of the Ohio Association of B'nai B'rlth Lodges, will call the session to order, BEBNABD FEITLEVGER, past president of Zion Lodge will act as master of ceremonies, Mrs, Milton Bender, president of Can¬ dlelight Chapter, will welcome the wom^n delegates while Ralph Shapiro, president of Zion Lodge will welcome the representatives of the men's groups. Keynote speaker for the eve¬ ning will be Herbert Levy, nat¬ ional program chairman of B'nai B'rlth, and director of the Lead¬ ership Caravan, a series of pro¬ grams tn which B'nai B'rlth lead¬ ers are trained in the duties and functions requisite and direction of B'nai B'rith work. Levy will Present a leadership training ses¬ sion, FOLLOWING THIS session, the men's and women's associations will adjourn for separate meet¬ ings, A social hour sponsored by the Columbus lodges and chapters will follow the meetlnga. On Sunday morning there will again be separate meetlnga, fol¬ lowed by a buffet luncheon. Allen Tarshish, District past preaident, will Install new association of-, fleers at the luncheon. CJonvention chairman Is Sam Cohen of Buckeye Lodge.
