Knesset Debate on Doctrine Delayed; Seek Compromise
JERUSALEiM, (JTA) An Is¬ rael Government policy declar¬ ation on the Eisenhower Doc¬ trine, which waa scheduled to kick off a Parliamentary debate, was postponed here at the very laat mpnrient. The declaration will be made next week.
It is believed that difficulties among member parties .of the coalition government weis respon¬ sible for the -xlelay. The leftist Mapam and Achdut Avodah groups still insist pn voting a- gainst the government's policy, despite their membership in the Cabinet, while other parties de¬ mand   they  respect  the   principle
LOCAL VOLUNTEERS RECEIVE HONORS
Thirty-two vounteers who serv¬ ed at the Jewish Center 1()0 hours or more diirlng the past year were among those honored at the Volunteer Recognition Serv¬ ice tea Sunday May Ifl at the YWCA. The event was sponsored jointly by the Junior League and the Junior Chamber of Commerce of Columbua.
The volunteers work through the Volunteer Service Bureau, a department of the Councii of So¬ cial Agencies,

Charges voiced in the Moscow press that Israel's adherence to the principles of the Elsenhower Doctrine meant that the Jewish State had joined the "anti-Soviet military alliance" were rejected by sources close to the Israel CJovemment, Those sources point¬ ed out that in Israel's statement announcing Identification with the doctrine. It was stressed that Israel was determined to refrain from aggressive action and that Israel desired friendly relations with any like-minded nation.

LONDON, (JTA) — A Soviet broadcast in Arable charged that the United States will spend a major portion of tho Elsenhower Doctrine funds to arm Israel.
Beamed from Moscow to the Arab countries in the Middle East, the broadcast said: "The United States Intends to spend large sump of the Elsenhower Doctrine funds on arming Israel." The Russian propaganda alleged that $122,000,000 out of the $200,- 000,000 allocated for aid under the Eisenhower Doctrine will be offered .to Israel."
The Soviet broadcast attacked* the Elsenhower Doctrine and claimed that Israel has been se¬ lected to serve as "the gendarme of the imperialists" In the.Mid¬ dle Blast, "It la known," it said, "that when Egypt, which is threatened by Israeli aggression, asked the United States to give her arms, ahe waa refused. The United States does not send wea¬ pons to Syria, which Is adopting a neutralist policy. Instead. A- merican arms are flowing to those who accept orders from the United States."

In addition to Mrs. Roland, T. I. Sisterhood had another hon¬ ored member, Mrs. William Wa.i- serstrom, who received an honor¬ ary president's pin for her work in helping to organize the Ohio- Kentucky  Region.

Candlelight 888 to Meet Next Week
Next meeting of Candlelight Chapter 888 of B'nal B'rith will be at the Jewish Center Thurs¬ day. 8:30 p. m. In addition to the regular business meeting, reports will be given by Mrs. Herbert Feldman and Mrs. David Brown, official delegates to the B'nai B'rith Women District 2. conven¬ tion.
Rabbi Nathan Zolizer will be guest speaker. His topic: "What the Summer Holds in Store for Us In the Way of Recreation." Rabbi Zelizer will suggest ways to spend lelsurt? houra during summer and make use of local recreation  facilities.
