Kentucky, Indiana, MlRsourl, Kan- saa, Wyoming, Colorado and New Mexico wiJJ participate in the four- day conclave, under the guidance of more than 26 professional group workers and volunteer advisors. AJI of the youth mentioned abovo' participate tn the Conference ac¬ tivities, including business meet¬ ings, small discussion groups, soc¬ ial, athletic and recreational events. In addition. Dov Biegun Guest Speaker for Histadrut Dinner Dr. Dov Btcgun, elected National Secretary of the National Commit¬ tee for Labor Israel In June, 1955, has returned from Israel. He was sent as a delegate to the World Zionist Congress In Jerusalem. He will be principal speaker for Histadrut dinner Sunday evening, at the Jewish Center. Dr. Biegun is a noted economist and was educated In Continental and British universities, where he studied sociology and economios. Ho has fluent command of 13 languages, Including English, He¬ brew and Yiddish. Dr. Biegun served In World War U with the British armed forces in France, the Low Countries and Norway. He was a member of the British War Crimea Investigation Unit of the British Army of the Rhine, During (ind after World War II he raised loans In various Kuro- pcan countries and Oreat Britain for the Jewish National Fund, the Jewish Agency. In conjunction with the State of Israel, and haa also raised large-scale investments for the building Industry there. In the past three years he held a promin¬ ent position In Ampal and organiz¬ ed investments ' In the Israeli economy both here and In Central and South America. Dr. Biegun enjoys an enviable reputation as an orator and his addresses at hundreds of meetings and assemblies both In Europe and In the Western Hemisphere have delighted audiences everywhere. A skilled debater, hia keen analytical approach to problems of both the Jewish and non-Jewish world have already made a profound Impres¬ sion throug:hout the United States and Canada. Another honored gueat at the dinner will be a man from the Ohio State Federation of Lat>or, secretary-treasurer PhU Hannah, Da IX>V BIEGUN who has devoted his entire adult life in tho cause of the working people of this nation. Mr. Hannah is a native of Cleve¬ land, where he waa active In or¬ ganizational endeavors of the Teamsters Union, and served that organization in various official ca¬ pacities. Mr. Hannah was elected secre¬ tary-treasurer of the Ohio State Federation of Labor In 1942. He served In that office until 1946, at which time hu accepted. Presi¬ dent Truman's appointment ' as Under Secretary In the United States Department of Labor. Mr. Hannah resigned that Cabinet posi¬ tion late In 1947 to resume the sec- retary-treasurership of the Ohio State Federation of Labor. Mr. Hannaht in conjunction with his keen interest In the Labor movement, bas given freely of his time and energies to many com¬ munity and civic affairs and or¬ ganizations. Toastmaster and chairman of the Hiatadrut Dlnper Campaign la Dr. B. W. Abramson, who is well known to everyone, not only In his profiission but as a devoted Zion¬ ist ior many years and as a teacher of Jewish and Hebrew lit¬ erature.
