TWO-DAY MIDWEST REGIONAL GONFERENGE OF JEWISH EDUCATORS STARTS TOMORROW
Jewish Educators of the Midwest, members of the National Coun¬ cil For Jewish Education, will convene here Sunday and Monday. It's the 9th annual Conference that the Educators are meeting during the winter in various cities of the Midwest, discussing important problems in tne field of Jewish Education. Directors of Bureaus of Jewish Edu¬ cation and Principals of Hebrew Schools of the Midwestern area, as well as other prominent educatora, will attend. The following cities will be represented: Buffalo, Chicago, Cincinnati, Cleveland. Columbus, Dayton, Detroit, Indianapolis, Louisville, Milwaukee, Minneapolis and
Tororito, Canada.
The Fort Hayes Hotel will be the headquarters of the Confer¬ ence. First session will begin Sun¬ day, 10 a. m. A symposium on the subject "Functionals in Jewish Education" will be discussed at the fixst session. Rabbi Yaakov Kaba- koff of Cleveland will be the first participant in the symposium, dis¬ cussing "How to Achieve an Ef¬ fective Program of Jewish Adult; Education." AJbert Elazar of De¬ troit will discuss "Stops Toward a Workable System of In-Service Teacher Training." Doctor Joseph Diamond of Toronto will discuss "What Can We learn from the Israeli System of Education?"
Second session will begin at 1:15 p. m. Subject for discussion will be "Community Changes and Their Meaning for Jewish Education." Dr. Moses Zalesky of Cincinnati will discuss "Patterns of Cooper¬ ation Among Bureau, Synagogue and Center." Dr. Louia Katzoff of Chicago will discuss "How to De- velope Effective Lay-I-.<'ader3hip in Jewish Education."
AN KXKCrTIVi: committee meeting of the National Council for Jewiah Education will takts place at 3:30 p. m. Dr. David Ku- davaky, preaident of the National Council for Jewiah Education, will preside at the Executive meeting. The evening, seasion, which will begin at 7:43, will be devoted to a symposium on "How Dp I En¬ visage the Ideal Jewish Com^ munity?" Tho following discus¬ sants will participate: Dr. blazar Goelman of Buffalo, Mark M. Krug of Cincinnati and Dr. Ephralm Shmueli of Detroit.
A recep'ion in honor of thp edu¬ cators, arranged by the Hebrew School Board at Trustees and Iv¬ reeyoh Society, will take place Sunday, 9:30 p. m., at the Jewiah Center.

Heads Committee for Brotherhood Event
Dr. Charlea Young, pnfsident of Beth Jacob Brotherhood, met with the joint planning committee for the fourth annual Brotiierhood Ob¬ servance to be held Feb. 16. The commitee, consisting of Dr. Mitch Goodman, Nate Nedelman. Harold Monett. Hy Weinberg, Lou Dorf¬ man, Bob Lieberman, Lou Berliner, Harold Hillson and Bob Aronson, completed plans for this year's Joint Brotherhood stag at Beth Jacob Synagogue.
It was announced by Dr. Young that C. William O'Neil, Ohio's At¬ torney General, will be guest speaker. Tho Program committee has planned the type of entertain¬ ment proven moat pleasing to the mcrtiborship.
The Refreshment committee has reported that a complete menu for the affair will be reUdy within tho week.

~| Telephone Conference 1 Brunch Tomorrow ' , At Center
In response to the grave emer¬ gency Israel is facing, a telephone conference brunch will be held Sunday, 10 a. m., in the Adult Lounge of the Jewish Center, Jac¬ ob Gilbert, chairman of the Israel Bond campaign, announced.
Sunday's meeting will be part of hundreds to be held simultaneously throughout the country, at which time foremost Jewish leaders speaking by telephone from New York City will discuss the peril that is upon Israel and what can be done about it.
Ambassador Abba Eban, Senator Herbert Lehman. Dr. Joseph Sch¬ wartz and Rabbi Abba HlUel Silver will talk to Israel Bond leaders and workers at 10:30. via telephone amplification.
Brunch will be nerved. at 10 o'clock promptly, to allow plenty of time for the conference re¬ port and the follow-up.
Abe A. Wolman, Columbus mem¬ ber of the Board of Governors, will report on the Jan. 8-9 meeting of the group, at which time the goal of $75,000,000 tn Bond sales for 1956 waa set, and the crucial importance of the Bond Drive in terms of backing up Israel In this grave emergency, was recognized.

Guest Speaker at Brandeis Party
Tuesday noon at the Jewish Center, members of the Columbua Chapter of National Women's Committee of Brandeis University will hear first-hand the story ot their achlevementa in addition to the plans for the future of Bran- deia University, particularly the IJbrary.
Joaeph F. Kauffman, Adminis¬ trative Assistant to Pres. Sachar, will be guest speaker at tho annual paid-up membership luncheon and will be presented by Mrs. Fred Yenkln, Program chairman.
A graduate of tho University of Denver, Mr. Kauffman was award¬ ed his master's degree by North¬ western Unlveraity. From 1042 through 1945 he served with the U. S. Army, attached to the 86th Infantry Division in North Africa and Italy. Prior to Joining the staff of Brandels University, Mr. Kauff¬ man was with Bonds for Israel and did considerable work with tjie Antl-Defamation League of B'nai B'rith.

To Direct Gallery's "All My Sons"

Melvin Slott has been engaged to direct "All My Sona," Arthur MiUcr'a dramatic Broadway hit to be presented by Gallery Playera of the Jewish Center, Saturday and Sunday. Feb. U-12, in the Center auditorium.
Mr. Slott comes to the Center with an extensive background in theatre work, including his train¬ ing in speech and drama at L.ake Forest College in Chicago, where he subsequently served aa student Instructor in Theatrics. Ho has been active with the Goodman Memorial Theatre In Chicago; the Shady L.anc Theatre, profes.iional Summer Stoqk In Marengo, 111., and tho Music Theatre Corporation of Highland Park, 111.
