Mr. Schiff, a veteran loader in Jewish communal affairs, will head tho UJA's 1953 drive among the nation's business and Industrial en¬ terprises to meet immigration, set¬ tlement, welfare and rehabilitation needs In Israel and 20 other coun¬ tries  totalling $144,524,250. .
The noted Colfimbus industrialist and philantropic leader, who heads
the country's largest network of re¬ tail shoe stores and factories with 600 shops from coast to coast nnd nine plants serving 15% of the na¬ tion's shoe needs, has been active In United Jowlsh Appeal affairs since  Its  establishment  in  1939.

Mrs. Halasz Gets Trip to New York
Climaxing the Tifereth Israel Sisterhood annual Individual Quota Project, the winner of the Now Yofli City week-end trip for two, via air, was selected at the luncheon Wednesday at Broad St. Temple.

Cub Pack 326 Sponsors Blue-Gold Dinner in Observance of Scouting's 43rd Anniversary
In celebration of the 43rd anniversary of Scouting, Cub Pack 326 wlll have its first Blue-Gold dinner, according to Emil Brown, chalc- man of the Pack Committee.
The event will be held Sunday, Feb. 8, at the Jewish Center. The Qolebratlon will-begin wtth a dinner at 6 p. m. in the auditorium. ~
Sidney Wassefstrom-is chairman Week (Feb. 8-13) of. the program and indicates that this Is an event that all Scouts, parents and their friends will want to attend. Included in tho evening's festiVrltles is "45 Minutes of Magic", by Jim Vp,le the magician.

A meeting of the Ivroeyoh-PTA of the Columbus Hebrew School will be held' Wednesday. 8 p; m., at the Jewish Center.
Opon house will be hold from 8:00 to 8:30, affording an opportunity for parents to visit with the teach¬ ers In,the various classrooms and to Inquire about tho progress of their children's studies.
